Upland World Map

What is Upland?

The goal of the metaverse world Upland is that every user can create their own online empire .

You don’t have a real avatar like in many other worlds, but a so-called “block explorer“. The block explorer is constantly wandering through Upland, looking for interesting plots of land that you can buy. The movement of the block explorer cannot be controlled and is random.

The map of Upland is based on the real world map. But you can’t buy digital land everywhere, but only in some major cities.

Users can own digital land, build real estate or businesses on it, create cars, and earn UPX tokens.

The UPX token can be earned by collecting fees from visitors to your properties, selling a property for a profit, or starting a business in Upland. You can sell properties in Upland either for UPX or also for e.g. US dollars to get real money with the sale.

The currency in Upland – UPX

UPX tokens are the in-game currency in Upland. UPX is a fungible token on the EOS blockchain – similar to cryptocurrencies. However, the UPX tokens can only be used in Upland. As a user, you can sell a property for e.g. US dollars instead of UPX.

The UPX token is pegged to the real US dollar. That’s why 1,000 UPX tokens are equal to $1.

With UPX, users can buy land and real estate, but also sell it. A payout of the UPX tokens in real money or in a cryptocurrency is not possible in Upland.

The block explorer in Upland

In Upland, you don’t walk across the map with an avatar, but your so-called “block explorer” automatically wanders through the area and is always looking for interesting land for you.

While the block explorer is your Upland avatar, it’s not the same as classic avatars from other metaverse worlds or even other games. Actually, the block explorer is just a round picture. You can change the background color as well as the icon.

Control Block Explorer

If you click on a plot, you will see a ” Send” button. You can use this button to send your block explorer to this property for a fee (= shipment).

Each Uplander receives 3 shipments daily. You can have a maximum of 11 open shipments. By clicking on the paper airplanes on the map, you can collect additional shipments. Broadcasting fees vary by city. The broadcast of a block explorer is only possible within the city limits. If you want to change cities, then you have to take the train, bus or plane .

If you click on your block explorer and select the paper airplane icon , then you can send the block explorer to one of your properties or to a specific address.
