Create a Gather Account

1. Get into Gather

Get started with Gather via the following link:
https://app.gather.town/get-started

You will first be asked for what purposes you want to use Gather or what Gather space you need. You can choose from:

• “Remote Office” – A digital office for collaborating with colleagues
• “Team Social” – To experience activities and games with work colleagues
• “Conference” – To host large events and conferences

2. Room settings

Depending on what purpose you want to use Gather for, the next steps differ.

• “Remote Office” – you will be asked for the desired office size
• “Team Social” – you will be asked for the name for your room
• “Conference” – you will be redirected directly to the builder and you will be asked questions about the planned event

3. Enter room name

Enter the desired name for your room or office.

If you wish, you can also lock your room with a password so that only users with a password have access to your office.

4. Create an account

Next, you’ll need to create an account with Gather.

You can easily and conveniently use your existing Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, you can also create a Gather account with your email address.

5. Verify your account

After entering your e-mail address, you will receive a 6-digit numerical code, which you must enter for verification.

If you can’t find an e-mail in your inbox, please also check your spam or junk folder.

6. Permissions & Avatar

Your browser will now ask you for permission to access your camera and microphone. You need to allow these so that they can be seen and heard by your colleagues in Gather. You can also choose which audio and video sources you want to use to transmit image and sound.

In this step you will also receive your avatar or character, which you can change if you wish.

7. Design your avatar

In the editing mode of your Gather avatar or character, you can choose skin color, head shape, hair and clothing, among other things.

If you are satisfied with your avatar, you can then enter your Gather office.

8. Discover Gather

Once you have arrived at the Gather office, you can invite your colleagues to the room via a link or play mini-games (Tetris, go-kart, betting drawing …).

There are also private areas in Gather where you can talk to your colleagues without others being able to view / listen to this conversation.
